BadgeReplicas
badges are cast from a casting metal, harder than alloy but still slightly
flexible. All metal badges are chromed or gold plated, and painted with
two-pack enamels or automotive lacquers. These cast metal badges are
just slightly smaller than the factory (OEM) badges (due to 1% - 2%
shrinkage during cooling of the cast metal). While this is not at all
noticeable visually, it does sometimes require that the badges are mounted
with other techniques, such as automotive double-sided tape. This ensures
a more secure ‘fix’ in any case – you may have noticed
that virtually all modern automotive badges are affixed with such tape!
